Four Espee Alco switch engines -- C630's 3143, 3144, 3141 and 3146 -- were stopped on the Huey P. Long Bridge with a westbound transfer run. They were behind an MP train which was waiting for clearance to get into its Avondale Yard. Both railroads had yards at the west end of the bridge, and this causes trains to back up like this. Four-unit sets of C630's were not very common. This was actually two seperate trains which had been combined, so it had a mid-train caboose as well as one on the rear. |
